State Farm Insurance Agencies Donate Shoes

Local State Farm agents Anita Hart and Chad Hart along with their spouses and team members have a “Hart for the Soles and Souls” of Dyer County youth.

Through a coordinated purchasing arrangement with Fleet Feet of Jackson, TN, the Hart families combined to purchase 144 pair of tennis shoes to be distributed to local youth in Dyer County.
The Harts solicited assistance from the Dyersburg City and Dyer County School Systems to handle the distribution of the shoes.

Both Harts acknowledge the importance of a good comfortable pair of soles to one’s daily walk.  A comfortable sole is instrumental to the physical journey a young person travels.
Chad and Anita agree, “In today’s environment, shoes have become a status symbol, and we want young people to feel good about themselves among their peers.”

The Harts believe the soul projects one’s inner-life; the mind, heart, will and imagination, “If a young person has a positive image of themselves, this plays well to their inner soul.”

"We appreciate the generous contribution of the Harts.  To see a student's whole outlook at school change because he or she has shoes that feel and look good is incredibly heartwarming", Director of Schools Cheryl Mathis.

Proverbs 4:26-27 states, “Give careful thought to the paths of your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.  Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your feet from evil”

The main objective of “Hart for Soles and Souls” is for the young people of Dyer County to let their soles lead their soul and their soul to lead the daily walk.
